Bunny Easter Basket

Bunny Easter Basket

This is a really quick and easy project to make a sweet little Easter Basket Gift. It’s got its own personalised tag for the lucky recipient! This basket can be made for any occasion really.

You will need:

  • 1 x Basket (you can find these in a hardware store or local charity shop)
  • 2 x sheets of tissue paper in green or any colour to your choosing.
  • Some loose chocolate eggs. I used a variety of sugar coated eggs, foil covered eggs and wrapped eggs with a fondant filling.
  • 1 x large Easter bunny or other Easter shape. Even a small teddy/puzzle would be good, if you are not encouraging too much chocolate to be eaten!
  • Cling film
  • Sticky tape
  • A sheet of card to print your recipients name on.
  • A small length of ribbon.
  • The use of a shredder if you have one, or get busy with the scissors!

Approx. Cost per basket: £2

Here goes:

First of all scrunch up one of the pieces of tissue paper and lay in the basket.

Then, shred the other sheet up or cut into thin strips with scissors. Place the shredded tissue on top of the scrunched up tissue in the basket to make a nice little ‘nest’ for the bunny and eggs to be placed on.

Lay your bunny and eggs into the tissue.

Pull a length of cling film off the roll and lay it across the basket, draw it underneath and cling it together as tightly as you can. Use sticky tape to fix the rest of the cling film into place so that you have a nice smooth surface across your basket.

Then you can make the tag. I have printed the names of the recipients, wished them Happy Easter and who it is from. Cut out your tag and punch a hole in the end with a hole punch. Pull through some ribbon and knot it.

Finally stick your tag onto the basket.

And voila! You have a personalised Easter Gift Basket.
